Formatting transition to APA Citation

The Journal of Sport for Development (JSFD) is announcing a formatting transition from Vancouver Referencing to APA (American Psychological Association) Citation format (6th edition). Information about this format, along with other information related to preparing a paper for submission, can be found here.

New submission category

JSFD is excited to add a new manuscript submission category “From the Field” Articles in order to promote the inclusion of authors and articles from non-academic or research backgrounds, such as practitioners. Examples of topics that would fit within this submission type include opinion essays on advocacy, policy, and funding models, among others to stimulate dialogue for advancing sport for development practice, policy, and/or research. All of the submission categories are now detailed on the JSFD website and can be found within Authors Instructions.

JSFD at a glance

JSFD is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal. The Journal’s mission is to advance, examine, and disseminate evidence and best practices for programs and interventions that use sport to promote development, health, and/or peace. Manuscript submission to the JSFD is free of charge. Manuscripts should be submitted online via JSFD’s online manuscript submission form here. To date, 63 articles have been published from 151 authors representing 23 countries. The current average turnaround time from submission to initial decision is 48 days.
